The story of Motown's premier worldwide Hit making Girl group "The Supremes" has been well documented.
Following the departure of Diana Ross, they replaced members of the line up several times with Jean Terrell, Lynda Laurence, and Scherrie Payne then finally Susaye Greene being mainstays amongst the replacements in the 70’s until disbanding in 1978. In the 1980's with the blessing of the groups' founder member Mary Wilson, Jean, Scherrie and Cindy Birdsong formed the F.L.O.S. (FORMER LADIES OF THE SUPREMES). Cindy dropped out soon after and Lynda stepped in and began to perform their glamorous, sassy show around the world. The group's popularity leads to the Ladies recording with producer Rick Gianatos for the Motor City reunion sessions at Entourage Studios in Los Angeles in 1989. Following the demise of Motor City Records, Rick, who had been Scherrie’s producer since she left Motown approached the group about recording a totally new album and that is how Supreme Voices began its life. The group underwent a change as the project began, with Jean Terrell deciding to leave and being replaced with their first new member. That lady was the soulful vocalist Sundray Tucker who just happened to be Lynda's sister. It was now 1993 and Rick slowly began the recordings and collecting tracks for the album. Rick's UK business partner Paul Tams had suggested his all time favourite dance hit "Give Me the Night" and UK Producer Barry Andrews found an original song, “Road to Freedom,” from the guys who had written "Everybody's Free" for Rozalla.  Scherrie also provided some wonderful self penned tracks. The Album sold well and will soon be reissued. One track that Rick had been desperate to Remix for many years was "Road to Freedom" but unfortunately the master recording had been lost, but thanks to Barry Andrews who managed to use Ai to isolate the vocals to such a high standard quality the song has now been remastered and remixed on this superb 7 track single with remastered versions of the original mix and Rinaldo Montezz's excellent 2024 Remix and DJ David Strong's superb Megamix.  This single shows how SUPREME these ladies remain and continue to be. This is truly an ultimate slice of SUPREME VOICES! with more to come!
